The Minnewater

The Minnewater is a beautiful park that is the entrance to the city of Bruges. It's surrounding are so romantic in their structure that the Minnewater is also refered to as The Lake of Love. A great attraction for any couples feeling that sense of peace, tranquility, and a touch of romance.

The Belfry

Towering over nearly every single building in the city, The Belfry soars into the sky with it 83 meter high tower. It's sheer size is one of the fantastic reasons to visit this incredible monument of the city.

Museums

The City of Bruges museums include Flemish Primitives, contemporary art, classic fine arts, archaeology. These collections are held in individually in small museums arround the city. Some of th ehighlights are:-
  • The Groeninge Museum is also known as the city's Museum of Fine Arts. It contains a selection of artwork that dates to the beginning of the 14th century all the way to the 18th century.
  • Hospitaalmuseum or Memling in Sint-Jan museum which has an excellent collection of paintings by Hans Memling and other Flemish Primitives.
  • The Archeological Museum is actually made up of several houses and all tell the history of Bruges from a different point of view. The theme of the Bruggemuseum-Archeology is "daily life", based on archaeological objects.
  • The Gruuthuse Museum has a sumptious collection of 15th to 19th century artifacts which include sculptural art, furniture, silveware, textiles and ceramics.
  • The Lace Centre Features lace from 16th century onwards.
